US 12 GARAGE SALE RESULTS– Thanks to everyone who helped with the sale by donating or working or both. We added $533.75 to our treasury. Thanks also to the American Legion Post for hosting us.
FALL FESTIVAL EXHIBIT AT SKCC- We had an exhibit of some of the photos that will be in our upcoming photo book,” A Century of Clinton’s Past : Downtown, Business and Industry, 1889-1980.” Thanks to those who worked. We sold a few items, had some generous donations and also talked with many current and former residents. We had conversations with folks from Jonesville, Jackson Toledo and many other places.
PROGRAM ON “THE RIVER RAISIN- A PODUNK”- OCTOBER 26, 7PM AT CLINTON TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY. Kathleen Grady and Tim Polk, both on the Manchester Historical Society Board will make a visual presentation on the ghost town north of Clinton, called, River Raisin or Podunk. The public is invited.
PROGRAM ON CEMETERY CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION- NOVEMBER 6, AT 1PM AT THE SMITH KIMBALL COMMUNITY CENTER. Bobbie Mathis, of Union City, MI will present a slide program on the proper historic materials and techniques for restoring cemeteries ad grave markers. We will start out at the Community Center and after Ms. Mathis presentation we will walk down to the Old East Cemetery across from the Elementary School. Karen Faust and George Service attended a workshop in June, co-taught by Ms. Mathis and they have been working diligently to restore the stones and their position in our cemetery. CHRISTMAS BUILDING TOUR – Our president, Norleen Hicks, has been working lining up places to visit for the Christmas Building Tour. It will be Dec. 4th and she will need people to help with hosting at the various locations. More information will follow by e-mail.

ARCHIVES– We still need workers to list books we have received, to file, paste and to research. We are at the library most Fridays from 3-5pm. Just show up or contact Sharon Scott at 517-456-7198. Sam Hall has been digitizing slides donated by Shirley Fraley.
